View Release Stages

On the release details page, you can track the progress of the release through each stage and perform a variety of actions based on your role and access permissions. The available release stages are:

  • Submission

  • Planning

  • Development

  • Testing

  • UAT

  • Deployment

  • Training

  • Review

  • Closure

The left pane allows you to navigate through the stages. Each stage contains statuses that indicate the progress of a release request within the stage. Besides statuses, each stage has its planning and schedule, roles and approvals, and tasks and downtimes. You can identify the release stage using coloured dots.

Orange - Indicates current stage.

Green - Indicates completed stage.

Grey - Indicates skipped stage.

Submission - Track and update release details, view roles assigned, define and allocate tasks, record your approval decision, add notes, and view status comments. You can modify the release details using global or spot edit. However, some fields are editable only via global edit.

 

 

Planning - Track impact details, rollout plan, backout plan, and checklist. You can also view the downtime schedule for the release. If your role supports, you can add or edit these details. You can manage the stage approval, create and allocate tasks, add notes, and view status comments.

 

 

 

Development - Besides viewing pre-configured information, you can schedule the release. You can also add and allocate tasks, record your approval decision (if configured in the associated workflow), add notes, and view status comments. After development, you can add the actual start and end dates.

 

 

Testing - Schedule release testing, add description about the testing process. After testing, you can attach separate files for test cases and issues. You can also add and allocate tasks, record your approval decision (if configured in the associated workflow), add notes, and view status comments.

 

 

UAT - Schedule UAT testing, add description about the testing process, and record the actual time line. After testing, you can attach separate files for test cases and issues. You can also add and allocate tasks, record your approval decision (if configured in the associated workflow), add notes, and view status comments.

 

 

Deployment - Schedule release deployment and add downtimes. After deployment, you can attach separate files for issues found. You can also add and allocate tasks, record your approval decision (if configured in the associated workflow), add notes, and view status comments.

 

 

Training - Schedule time for release training. You can also add a short description of the training process and append related files. You can add and allocate tasks, record your approval decision (if configured in the associated workflow), add notes, and view status comments.

 

 

Review - Mark the next review date for the release, schedule time for release review, add a short description of the review process, and append related files if any. You can also add and allocate tasks, record your approval decision (if configured in the associated workflow), add notes, and view status comments.

 

 

Closure - Provide a closure code, add a short description of the release closure. You can also add and allocate tasks, record your approval decision (if configured in the associated workflow), add notes, and view status comments.
